Screen Realities, Synthetic Situations and Scopic Media

27.02.2012

Individual Project of the Priority Program initiates an Open Panel at the 4S-EASST Conference 2012 in Copenhagen, Denmark

Increasingly, many areas of social life are no longer characterized by face-to-face interactions, but instead by various forms of face-to-screen interaction: Video-conferences, augmented reality, telemedicine, military drones, and many other forms of ‘screen work’ are only examples. In such ‘synthetic’ situations, the enmeshment of social conduct and technology becomes particularly tight, as the logic of the world-on-screen and situation intertwine.

Against this background the Scopic-Media-Project of the Priority Program organizes an open panel with the title "Screen Realities, Synthetic Situations and Scopic Media". The panel is part of the "4S-EASST Conference 2012" which takes place from October 17 to October 20, 2012 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Deadline for Submission is March 18, 2012.
